“My soul, where are you? Do you hear me?
I speak, I call you – are you there?
I have returned, I am here again, I have shaken the dust of all the lands
from my feet, and I have come to you, I am with you”

C. G. Jung, The Red Book

The light when the night descends

We often start therapy when we are in some kind of darkness. When our eyes adapt to the pale light of the night, progressively we see shapes emerging.

This process is similar at looking at the Rothko’s painting above (Untitled (1952-53)): tuning into it, shapes and images – invisible at first - will emerge. And every different eye will see something different and unique.

For me, therapy is about welcoming and embracing all these images, emotions, thoughts, these parts of the self we encounter throughout life – acknowledging even the most absurd ones with respect, giving them space, and discovering their meaning.

It means opening spaces and starting a fascinating journey.

I will join you in this delicate process and I will meet you where you are, we will light a candle to explore your world, always at a pace that feels right for you.

My role is to facilitate this process by offering a warm and safe space where your journey can unfold. We will work together to decide the direction.

Starting therapy is an act of self-love, to make our light shine.

About me

“How could we forget those ancient myths that stand at the beginning of all races, the myths about dragons that at the last moment are transformed into princesses? Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”

― Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

A warm welcome!

My name is Emanuela, and I am very happy to share some fragments of my story with you, one that has been guided by a deep commitment to personal transformation, passion, curiosity.

I started what I like to call “my research path” at the beginning of university, when so many questions felt unanswered and a mysterious language – the language of emotions and of the unconscious – led me to seek deeper understanding and to embark on my own therapy journey. Central at that time was the encounter with the work of Aldo Carotenuto, a Jungian psychoanalyst that introduced me to the ideas of Carl Jung. Through this process I discovered myself, my relationships and the world around me under a new light.

Alongside my own therapy, I have been reading inspiring books – of psychology, philosophy, literature, poetry – and I have been searching for beauty in artworks, music, movies, nature and in the people I meet, in the small things of everyday life, in everything that could nurture my soul.

This individuation journey has shaped my personal life and my professional path and taught me to trust and listen to that mysterious language that culturally we are often discouraged to listen.

Like the lotus flower that blooms in muddy waters, I think we can transform our mud into something precious and realize our full potential.

My approach

My approach

I am a British/Italian Integrative Humanistic Counsellor and Therapist.

The humanistic approach allows me to see each person as a whole - mind, emotions, body, spirituality and creativity – all interconnected. The integrative aspect means that therapy is tailored to the unique individual in front of me, recognizing that no single approach fits everyone.

At the heart of my practice is the Person-Centered approach. I see my role not as an expert providing answers, but as a facilitator supporting clients in discovering their own path. In addition, I draw from Jungian Psychology and Existentialism, perspectives that both emphasize the complexity and depth of human experience. Another important point of reference for me is the work of Thích Nhất Hạnh and his precious teachings about mindfulness as a philosophy of life.

While talking therapy is central, I encourage to bring in the session spontaneous images as a way to connect with emotions in depth. Depending on the client’s curiosity and comfort, I also use creative and experiential methods such as Inner Child Work, visualizations, dream exploration, the Empty Chair technique, nesting dolls, archetype cards, and drawing. These methods can offer powerful insights and foster deeper self-connection.

I support adult clients (18+) with a wide range of issues, with particular expertise in:

• Emotional issues (anxiety, panic, depression)

Fees & Practicalities

The first step is for you to fill a New Client Intake Form that I will send you via email. I will then offer a free 20 minute initial video call, where we can explore how we might work together. This is an opportunity for you to share what brings you to therapy and ask any questions you may have. I will also ask some questions about your past and current situation to determine whether my expertise aligns with your needs or if a referral to another professional might be more suitable.

After this conversation, we will take a few days to reflect on whether we feel like a good fit. If we both agree to move forward, we will schedule our first session.

Sessions

One session lasts 50 minutes and can be conducted online or face to face.

For online sessions I use Whereby, a secure platform largely used by therapists. You don’t need to download any program, you just have to click on a link that I will provide you (you will need access to a private, confidential space and good internet connection).

For in person therapy, I meet clients in South London at the Sunflower Centre, on Monday evenings or I can rent a therapy room in the same geographical area and offer a hybrid approach that combines both online and face-to-face sessions.

Fees

My fees vary from £55 for online sessions to £65 per face to face sessions.
